Ryan Ashburn Announces Women’s Golf Schedule for 2019-20

BIRMINGHAM – Second year head coach Ryan Ashburn has announced the 2019-2020 schedule for the UAB women's golf team which is highlighted by five tournaments in the fall and a minimum of five tournaments in the spring.
"We are excited to challenge our new-look team with a schedule that will push the girls to reach their potential," Ashburn said. "We have a mixture of tournaments we are familiar with along with some new tournaments featuring some of the top teams in the country. To reach our team goals we have to compete against the best and this schedule will allow us to do so."
The Blazers open the fall slate at the USA Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama in Mobile from Sept. 14-16. UAB then heads to the Pirate Collegiate Classic in Greenville, N.C., as East Carolina play hosts Sept. 23-24.
Following ECU, the Blazers once again return to the Starmount Forest Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro. The Blazers placed fifth in this tournament a year ago.
UAB then ventures to Kiawah Island, S.C., Oct. 13-15, for the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by College of Charleston. The fall schedule ends with a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the Battle at the Beach hosted by TCU, Nov. 1-3.
The Blazers open spring competition on Feb. 16 with a three-day tournament in New Orleans at the AllState Sugar Bowl. UAB then has a lengthy gap until it co-hosts the Bama Beach Bash with South Alabama in Gulf Shores, Ala., March 20-22.
The following week, March 29-31, the Blazers participate in the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. Georgia State is the host of the tournament which takes place in Stockbridge, Ga.
UAB's final tune-up before the Conference USA Tournament takes place April 7-8 at the Grove Cup in Oxford, Miss., hosted by Ole Miss.
The Conference USA Tournament returns to Fort Myers, Fla., and will be played April 19-22. If the Blazers advance, NCAA Regionals will be played at four sites around the country followed by the NCAA Championship May 22-27 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Tempe, Ariz.
