BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Department of Athletics, in conjunction with Blazer Sports Properties and Cumulus Media, have reached an agreement for WJOX 94.5 FM to become UAB Football's flagship radio station for the 2019 season.

The new home of the Blazers will have WJOX 94.5 FM air 11 of UAB's 12 regular season games this season, with the Nov. 30 game at North Texas airing on 100.5 FM JOX2.

"We are thrilled to be partnered with UAB and Learfield/IMG College," said Bill Gentry, VP/General Manager of Cumulus Media. "With the success that Bill Clark and his staff and team have achieved, it is fitting that that we showcase UAB football play-by-play on JOX 94.5. We are excited to have the hometown team on JOX 94.5 and look forward to many years of continued Blazer success."

Entering his 13th year as The Voice of the Blazers, David Crane will once again be on play-by-play duties for the Green and Gold, and he will also serve as the host of Coach Clark's weekly radio show, Blazer Sportsline. Steve Irvine enters his fourth year as the color commentator and Trey Ragland is in his third year as the sideline reporter.

Landrum Roberts joins the broadcast team this season as the host of the pregame show, which airs live from the downtown location of Buffalo Wild Wings every gameday. Roberts, who hosts 3 Man Front weekdays on WJOX 94.5 FM, anchors the pregame show that comes on the air one hour prior to kickoff.

"Cumulus Media in Birmingham has been an awesome partner for the Blazers, and we are thrilled to make the move to WJOX 94.5 FM for our football games," said Greg Wheeler, General Manager of Blazer Sports Properties. "The Blazer football program has experienced remarkable success over the past two years, and this is the perfect time to expand our audience on JOX 94.5 FM."

The Blazers are 22 days away from opening the 2019 season on Aug. 29 at Legion Field versus Alabama State.
