Stephenie Fowler Named WGCA Scholar All-American

BIRMINGHAM - Junior Stephenie Fowler has been named a Scholar All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, the organization announced on Monday.

The team was announced with a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA for the team is 3.50.

Fowler compiled an overall GPA of 3.73 for the 2018-19 academic year while majoring in Kinesiology - Exercise Science.

The Tuscaloosa native had the best tournament of her career at the Bama Beach Bash in which she placed third overall and was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week on March 27. She shot a four-under 68 in the final round which propelled her to third place.

Fowler enters her junior year as one of four returning players from a season ago. UAB's schedule will be released at a future date. Β
