BIRMINGHAM - UAB graduate student Emily Drouin of the track and field team has been named the Conference USA Outdoor Championships Female Co-Track Performer of the Meet, according to a press release by the league office Friday afternoon.
Drouin finished the meet with two silver medals in the steeplechase and 5000 meters after claiming the indoor 5000 meters conference championship earlier this year.
Drouin broke the UAB school record in the steeplechase earlier this year at the Raleigh Relays and bettered that time at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships on May 11. She won five events this season and placed in the top-5 in all eleven races.
Drouin did not finish lower than fifth in an event this season.
She joins Kigen Chemadi of Middle Tennessee, John Warren of Southern Miss, Hannah Jackson of Rice and Michelle Fokam of Rice as the performers of the meet.
