Track and Field to Compete in Two Weekend Events

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB women's track and field team returns to action as it participates in the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays and the Black and Gold Invite Friday and Saturday.
The Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays, hosted by Mississippi State in Starkville, Mississippi will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with the hammer throw and conclude with the 4 x 400 relay, slated to get underway at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday
The Black and Gold Invite will be held in Nashville, Tennessee and hosted by Vanderbilt. Celestial Moon, Serena Martinez, Lauren Turner and Sarah Slavik will begin competition for the Blazers at 6 p.m. in the 1500 meters before Morgan Mihalis, Emily Drouin, Karlee Stortz and Britney Johnson take part in the 2000 meters. Turner and Martinez are set to run in the 800 meters on day two, set to begin at 2:45. Katie Nelson and Laura Thompson will wrap up competition for UAB in the 3000 meters at 3:45 Saturday.
Following this weekend's competitions, the Green and Gold will be back on the track March 28-30 as it participates in events to be held in Gainesville, Florida and and Raleigh, North Carolina.
