Blazers Fall, 4-2, to South Alabama at Samford

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team fell to South Alabama, 4-2, in an in-state showdown at Samford Tennis Center on Saturday morning.
The Blazers (4-4, 1-0 C-USA) opened the day by winning the doubles point. UAB's No. 1 doubles pairing of Roman Postolka and Michal Lusovsky remained perfect on the year by notching a win over the No. 11 doubles team in the nation, Loic Cloes and Clement Marzol, 6-2. Giovani Pasini and Nikolai Manchev triumphed over Sacha Modica and Max Laparaille, 6-3.
The lone singles victory for the Green and Gold belonged to Lusovsky, who beat Laparaille, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Lusovsky recorded his fourth singles victory of the year to lead the team.
The Blazers look to bounce back when they take on North Alabama on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at the UAB Tennis Courts.Β
