BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team fell to UCF, 4-0, on Sunday morning at Samford University.

UAB (4-5, 1-0 C-USA) was shut out for the first time since dropping a match to No. 20 LSU on Jan. 19.

Daniel Janko and Jasper Van Kleef fell to UCF's Alan Rubio and Mikhail Sokolovskiy, 6-1, before the Knights' Gabriel Decamps and Manoel Alencar defeated Nikolai Manchev and Giovani Pasini, 6-3 as UCF took the doubles point.

Sokolovskiy triumphed over Pasini in singles play, 6-0, 6-1, while Rubio knocked off Janko, 6-4, 6-3. Bogdan Pavel clinched the match for UCF, overcoming Van Kleef, 6-3, 7-6, on court four.

The Blazers return to action against Alabama A&M on Saturday in a match scheduled for 1 p.m. from the UAB Tennis Courts.
