BIRMINGHAM – Senior Deanna Kuzmanic of the UAB women's basketball team has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, annually presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Kuzmanic has garnered the award for the second consecutive season, earning the honors as junior and becoming the only Blazer in program history to earn the award twice.
"Deanna is a great example of what our program is all about," head coach Randy Norton said. "She consistently excels in the classroom, on the court, out in the community and is of the highest character."
Kuzmanic carries a 3.945 GPA, majoring in mathematics with a STEM education minor. She has twice been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team and is one of only four players in program history to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team and is one of three players to earn it twice. The Blazers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 23 when they welcome the Blue Raiders to Bartow Arena for Alumni Day. Tipoff between UAB and Middle Tennessee is set for 2 p.m.
