Janae Duffy Promoted to Director of Operations for UAB Women’s Basketball

BIRMINGHAM – Head coach Randy Norton has announced the promotion of Janae Duffy to Director of Operations after serving as the program's graduate assistant during the 2025-26 season.
"We are excited to welcome Janae Duffy into the role of Director of Basketball Operations," Norton said. "Janae has already made a tremendous impact on our program during her time as a graduate assistant, and she has earned this opportunity through her work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to our student-athletes. She understands our culture, our expectations, and what it takes to run a successful program on a daily basis. Janae is organized, detail-oriented, and deeply invested in the success of our team. We are fortunate to have someone with her character and passion continue her journey with us, and I know she will be a tremendous asset to our staff and program moving forward."
Duffy transitions into the full-time role after spending the past year playing an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the Blazers program. As a graduate assistant, she assisted with team travel and meal planning, coordinated game and practice setup, assisted in supervising and directing student managers, and helped ensure that both student-athletes and staff were organized and supported throughout the season.
In addition to her operational responsibilities, Duffy managed practice logistics, including coordinating music and other elements necessary for efficient and productive training sessions.
As Director of Operations, Duffy will oversee the program's logistical operations, including team travel, scheduling coordination, practice and game-day organization, and other administrative responsibilities that support the success of UAB Women's Basketball.
