BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball (11-19, 4-14 American) battled through a tightly contested game but fell to Charlotte (14-17, 8-10 American) 69-66 in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena to close out the regular season.

Four Blazers scored in double figures with Cali Smallwood leading UAB with 17 points while Sofia Munoz registered 14 points. Molly Moffitt tallied 13 points and Monae' Duffy totaled 12 points.

The 49ers were led by Princess Anderson with 21 points. Tanajah Hayes recorded 14 points, and Caitlin Staley registered 12 points.

Game Notes

Smallwood led the Green and Gold for 11^th time this season with her 17 points and has scored in double figures 24 times.
Munoz led the Blazers with nine assists, the second most she has recorded this year.
Duffy led UAB with nine rebounds and added 12 points to the stat sheet.
Moffitt recorded 13 points and six rebounds while playing over 41 minutes.
The game featured 11 lead changes and eight tied scores, highlighting a back-and-forth battle.
In the first three quarters the score was a difference of one point, and the Green and Gold had the advantage after the first and second frame.
UAB scored 24 points in the paint, 23 points off turnovers, 13 second chance points and 11 fast break points.

With the game going into overtime, it was the third time this season and the second consecutive game to go into an extra period.
