UAB Falls to Florida Atlantic in C-USA Championship Game

The loss moves UAB's record to 9-4 overall, and the Blazers now await their bowl destination which will be announced on Sunday.
It was a tough day on both sides of the ball for the Blazers as FAU (10-3) out-gained UAB 585-223 with 299 passing yards and 286 rushing yards.
Offensively for UAB, Spencer Brown rushed 18 times for 65 yards, while Austin Watkins Jr. had three catches for 43 yards. Defensively, Will Boler had a career-high 10 tackles.
The Blazers forced a punt on FAU's first possession, but the Owls then scored a touchdown on three-consecutive possessions to take a 21-3 lead with 14:09 left in the first half.
FAU scored a special teams touchdown on a blocked punt which gave the Owls a 28-3 midway through the second quarter. Nick Vogel's second field goal of the half made the score 28-6, but the Owls found the end zone again with 26 seconds left and took a 35-6 lead into halftime.
FAU tacked on a 1-yard rushing score with 3:57 left in the third and a 20-yard touchdown pass with 9:51 left in the fourth for the only 14 points of the second half.
