Blazers Head to Virginia for Conference Matchup with VMI

BIRMINGHAM – The defending Southern Conference champion UAB rifle team travels to Lexington, Va. as it takes on conference foe VMI on Saturday.
"We are going to be prepared," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "We look forward to having a good showing in Lexington on Saturday."
The match is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. CST and will be UAB's conference match against the Keydets.
UAB is led in aggregate average score by Sophia Flores, who boasts a 1137.5 aggregate average, while also leading the squad in smallbore average (561.5) and air rifle average (576.0). Jordan Blankenship has performed well for the Green and Gold, as she is second on the team in air rifle average with 573.0.
Freshman Amy Kohan has burst onto the scene for the Blazers, averaging 556.75 in smallbore, 572.75 in air rifle and 1129.50 in aggregate, good for third on the team in all three categories.
UAB enters the match with a record of 7-1 on the year.
