UAB Opens 2019-20 Season at Troy on Thursday

UAB AND TROY HISTORY
UAB and Troy began their series on Nov. 15, 2008 – a 21 point Blazers victory on the road. The teams met 35 days later at Bartow Arena with the Blazers holding off the Trojans 73-68. UAB went on to win the next eight matchups until last season.
KEEP AN EYE ON
Zack Bryant needs 47 points for 1,000 on his career. The junior guard was named to the Conference USA 2019-20 Preseason Team. He finished last year as UAB's leading scorer with 14.9 points per game and was a All-Conference USA Third Team selection.
ABOUT TROY
Head coach Scott Cross is in his first season after leading UT-Arlington to 225 victories in 12 seasons (2007-18). The Trojans were selected to finish 12th in the Sun Belt and lost its top four scorers from last season.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Blazers will not hit the road until the end of the month when they face two of their toughest opponents on the season. Nov. 29 UAB travels to Kentucky. The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 2 in both AP Top 25 and Coaches Polls. After the trip to Lexington, the Blazers will face Texas on Dec. 3 in Austin.
