Rifle Competes in Last Event of 2019 at Jacksonville State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB rifle team heads to Jacksonville, Ala. on Sunday as it looks to compete well in its final event before the calendar flips to 2020.
"I am excited about going to Jacksonville State," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "It will be a great event and our student-athletes will be ready to perform."
UAB (9-1, 5-0 SoCon) competes against the likes of Ole Miss, Memphis and host school Jacksonville State.
Sophomore Sophia Flores led the Blazers in smallbore (566) and aggregate (1144) scores in their last competition at VMI, while freshman Amy Kohan paced the Green and Gold in air rifle, shooting 585 against the Keydets.
Flores leads UAB in season aggregate average as well, boasting an average score of 1138.8, while also pacing the squad in smallbore (562.4) and air rifle (576.4).
Sophomore Jordan Blankenship holds second in aggregate average (1131.2) and smallbore average (559.2), while Kohan holds the title of team runner-up in air rifle average (575.2).
Following this weekend, the Blazers return to action on Jan. 24 at Murray State.
