Rifle Defeats Wofford on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB rifle team defeated Wofford on the road on Saturday, claiming first place for the third time this season.
"I'm happy about the way we shot today," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "We performed really well and I am proud of our shooters."
UAB posted scores of 2229 in smallbore and 2281 in air rifle for an aggregate score, while the Terriers shot 2177 in smallbore and 2248 in air rifle for an aggregate total of 4425.
The Blazers (7-1) had four representatives in the top-five individually, with Sophia Flores, Amy Kohan, Jordan Blankenship and Zoe Lum claiming spots 2-5, respectively.
Flores finished in second, shooting 561 in smallbore and 574 in air rifle, posting an aggregate score of 1135, while Kohan shot 549 in smallbore and 576 in air rifle, placing third with an aggregate score of 1125.
Blankenship and Lum rounded out the top-five with aggregate scores of 1123 and 1115, respectively.
Lum was the first Blazer on the scorecard in small bore, shooting 562, while Kohan took home second in air rifle.
