Rifle Finishes Second at Conference-Leader North Georgia

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB rifle team placed second on Saturday in Dahlonega, Ga. as it competed against Georgia Southern and North Georgia.
"Our performance today was a good step as we prepare for the rest of the season," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "We will continue to work and train for the remainder of the year."
The Blazers shot 2204 in smallbore and 2298 in air rifle for an aggregate total of 452, while North Georgia won the match by shooting 2254 in smallbore and 2338 in air rifle for an aggregate score of 4592. Georgia Southern finished third in the match with an aggregate score of 4459.
Jordan Blankenship led the way for UAB as she finished fourth overall with an aggregate score of 1138, while also placing fifth in air rifle, shooting 559. Amy Kohan also represented the Blazers in the top-10 individually, finishing seventh with an aggregate score of 1128.

UAB will return to the range Nov. 2 in Spartanburg, S.C. as it takes on Wofford.
