Men’s Tennis Opens Spring Season in Tallahassee

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team opens its spring competition season on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
The field includes UAB, Louisiana, North Florida, Nebraska, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, New Orleans and host Florida State.
The Blazers will field a team comprised of eight competitors, including returners Daniel Janko, Giovani Pasini, Fernando Vargas, Nikolai Manchev and Tom el Safadi and newcomers Roman Postolka, Chase Parker and Michal Lusovsky.
The Green and Gold open play against the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana in the first round of the bracket-style tournament on Saturday morning. Second-round matchups will be held on Saturday afternoon with the championship, third-place, fifth-place and seventh-place matchups coming on Sunday.
