Mother Nature Cuts Day One of Shoal Creek Invitational Short

BIRMINGHAM – Scheduled to play 36 holes on the first day of the Men's Golf 2018 Shoal Creek Invitational, action was suspended midway through the second round due to thunderstorms and play will resume on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
The field will remain in the same pairings for the conclusion of the second round and also the third round. Third round action will begin immediately following the second round. UAB will be paired with Vanderbilt and Ole Miss once again.
The Blazers shot +4 in the opening round and were in a tie for seventh after 18 holes. In his first collegiate tournament for UAB, junior college transfer Sam Goldasich led the team at two-under par. Collectively, UAB shot 292.
Before play was suspended, UAB fell two spots in the second round and will pick up action in ninth place unofficially, midway through the tournament.
North Florida had the lead after 18 holes at -4, and Texas A&M now has the lead midway through the second round at -6, followed by the Osprey at -5. Travis Trace of North Florida and Steven Fink of Georgia Southern are leading the tournament at -6.
