BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB volleyball released its 2018 schedule on Tuesday, one that features several marquee matchups throughout non-conference and Conference USA play.
The Blazers play in four tournaments to begin the season, starting in Fort Worth, Texas at the Cowtown Classic hosted by TCU. The tournament runs Aug. 24-25, with UAB opening the season and tournament against TCU on the 24.

The road warrior theme continues as the Conference USA season begins on the road for the Blazers, at FIU on Sept. 21. UAB then plays at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 23. The first home match of the season will be against Marshall on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
UAB is entering a new era under first-year head coach Amy Pauly.
"I'm really excited with the competition we'll be facing this fall," Pauly said. "Not only are we going to be playing teams from Power 5 conferences and others who have been historically successful in their conferences, but we'll be playing them on the road. It's going to be challenging, but that's how you grow and get better.
The Blazers return 12 players from last season, nine letterwinners and add three incoming freshmen.
