Men’s Golf Heads to Wake Forest for Stitch Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Playing in its final tournament before heading into postseason play, the UAB men's golf team is set to participate in the Stitch Invitational hosted by Wake Forest at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, N.C.
The Par-72, 6,973-yard course welcomes a high-powered field consisting of Wake Forest (28), Duke (29), NC State (35), Campbell (58), East Carolina (75), College of Charleston (81), Maryland (84), Virginia Tech (90), UAB (91), Richmond (157), Appalachian State (192) and Ohio (233).
"This is highly competitive field and it will be a great test as we prepare for the postseason," head coach Mike Wilson said. "I am looking forward to see how our five golfers compete this weekend with the C-USA championship around the corner."
UAB looks to continue its momentum coming off a strong final round at the Duck Invitational in which the Blazers collectively shot the low round of the day and finished ninth overall.
UAB's lineup this weekend consists of R.J. Keur, William Walker III, Murray Naysmith, John Hayden and Nick Robillard. The tournament format consists of 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
This is the final tournament for the Blazers before heading to Texarkana, Ark., for the Conference USA Tournament which is scheduled for April 22-25.
