Men's Golf Shines in Final Round of Duck Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's golf team closed out The Oregon Duck Invitational emphatically with a one-under par (283) final round score. The Blazers were the only team to finish under par in round three action.
The 283 was the second-lowest team round for the tournament, as Oregon State fired a 282 in round two.
The Blazers entered the day in 13th place following 36-holes on Monday but climbed four spots to finish in sole possession of ninth place (303-297-283 = 883 (+31)).
R.J. Keur led the way with a final round 68 (-3), the third-lowest score of the day.
The senior finished Tuesday's action with four birdies and vaulted inside the top-20 en route to a tie for 16th among individuals (77-73-68 = 216 (+3)).
Murray Naysmith (72-73-71 = 216) continued his solid play this spring as the redshirt sophomore posted the top UAB finish (T12th) at three-over par.
The Blazers also received a strong final round from William Walker III (T56), who matched Naysmith with a 71 and completed the tournament at +14 (80-76-71 = 227).
John Hayden (T36) and Nick Robillard (76) concluded their tournaments at +11 and +22, respectively.
No. 30 Oregon and Liberty shared the team title with a cumulative +13. Santa Clara and Oregon State (+17) tied for third, while St. Mary's (+23) rounded out the top five.
Norman Xiong of Oregon shot a final round 64 and took home the individual title at -11.
UAB returns to the links April 13-15 at the Stitch Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C for its final regular season tournament before postseason play begins.
