UAB Wins Fourth-Straight Match By Sweeping Alabama A&M, 7-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's tennis team claimed its fourth-straight victory and improved to 7-0 on its home court after the Blazers recorded a 7-0 sweep of Alabama A&M at George Ward Park on Sunday afternoon.
UAB (11-6, 0-2) has now recorded its most wins since the 2015-16 season and has matched its longest winning streak of the season at four matches.
The day got off to a hot start as Tim Dollman and Stefan Gonzalez cruised by Nishangan Nadaraja and Shakir Elvin on Court 1, 6-1, for their fourth-straight doubles win and 11th overall. Anru Fourie and Kenton Parton clinched the point for the Blazers with a 6-3 on Court 3 before Henry Paiste and Nikolai Manchev earned the sweep with a 6-1 victory on Court 2.
Holding a 1-0 advantage entering singles play, it was Fourie who earned the Blazers' next point in the match, posting 6-2, 6-1 victory over his opponent in the three spot. Gonzalez put the Blazers up 3-0 overall with a clean sweep (6-0, 6-0) of his opponent on Court 2.
Giovani Pasini continued his fine run of form, earning his eighth-straight singles win and clinching the match for UAB with a 6-1, 6-0, effort against Carlos Salas on Court 4.
With win No. 11 on the year in the books, the Blazers looked to complete the sweep. Dollman won with ease over his opponent in the top spot, topping Nadaraja 6-2, 6-0 to put UAB up 5-0, before Manchev earned a 6-4, 6-3 win on Court 5.
Marlon Goering found himself in a battle on Court 6, the final match to be contested on the day, but took the first set 7-6(3) to take the early lead. The sophomore then found his rhythm and swept the final set, 6-0, to secure the 7-0 sweep over the Bulldogs.
UAB returns to action on March 30 as it heads to San Antonio, Texas, to compete in the Conference USA Shootout. More information on the midseason tournament can be found on the Conference USA website.
