Men’s Golf Heads to Oregon for The Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. – Coming off an 11th place finish at the Schenkel Invitational, The UAB men's golf team continues its season this Monday and Tuesday, March 26-27 at the 29th annual Duck Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene Country Club.
Eugene Country Club, which hosted the 2016 NCAA National Championships, will challenge the Blazers and the rest of the field on the par 71, 7,020-yard course. Along with UAB, the field includes No. 29 Arizona, No. 30. Oregon, No. 38 Colorado State, No. 45 Saint Mary's, Boise State, Denver, Fresno State, Iowa, Liberty, Loyola Marymount, Oregon State, Pacific, San Jose State, Santa Clara, and Seattle.
"We are excited to head west for this tournament," head coach Mike Wilson said. "We need to have a very good outing this week as we head towards our conference championship and postseason play."
UAB's lineup for The Duck is comprised of William Walker III, R.J. Keur, Murray Naysmith, Nick Robillard and John Hayden. Robillard is competing in the lineup for the first time this spring after his stellar performance as an individual last week at the Schenkel Invitational.
Robillard had the best tournament of his collegiate career, firing a 72-71-72 = 215, -1 at the Schenkel Invitational. He paced the Blazers with a 21st place finish, while Keur and Naysmith were both one shot behind him at even par.
Keur carded his fifth tournament this season at or under par and he leads the blazers in stroke average at 71.2.
The two-day tournament begins on Monday morning with 36 holes, followed by a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. Fans can click here for live results.
