Donado Tabbed Conference USA Golfer of the Week

IRVING, Texas – After helping the UAB women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the 'Bama Beach Bash last weekend, Maria Donado has been named Conference USA Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office.
Donado fired a one-over par 73 in the final round to jump two spots up the leaderboard and finish 14th in the 59-player field, notching her fourth top-15 finish of the season.
Additionally, Donado carries a team-best 75.6-stroke average through 24 rounds this season. She has been the team low medalist in six of the Blazers' eight tournaments and has competed in every round of every tournament since arriving on campus in the spring of 2017.
"I am really happy to receive this recognition," Donado said. "I have been working hard to keep improving this season and being named C-USA Golfer of the Week only motivates me more."
Donado is the first UAB golfer to earn player of the week honors since Juliana Sebastian garnered the award in February 2017.
UAB returns to the course next week with a trip to Statesboro, Ga., to compete in the John Kirk Panther Invitational. Play is set to run Sunday through Tuesday with live stats available through Golf Stat.
