UAB Hosts No. 8 Auburn Saturday Night in Mike Slive Invitational

BIRMINGHAM - Honoring the late Mike Slive, the UAB men's basketball team hosts No. 8 Auburn on Saturday night at Legacy Arena in the Mike Slive Invitational. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
The Blazers (6-3) and the Tigers (8-1) are deadlocked at 10-10 in the all-time series and this is the fourth game of a four-year series dating back to 2015. The past three games have been decided by a combined 10 points.
Senior Lewis Sullivan averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds last week and is putting together a tremendous senior season for the Green and Gold. He is the team's second leading scorer (10.6) and leads the team in rebounds at 6.3 per game.
UAB continues to dominate opponents on the glass and ranks 27th nationally in rebounding margin at +7.8. The Blazers have out-rebounded eight-of-nine opponents this season and will be tested by the Tigers who are also very good on the boards, ranking 37th in rebounding margin.
Auburn has four players averaging double-figure scoring, led by Bryce Brown (18.0) and Jared Harper (14.6) who have combined to make 61 of the team's 105 3-pointers. Auburn leads the nation in turnover margin at +8.1 and are forcing an average of 20.7 turnovers per game. The Tigers' only loss this season was a 6-point defeat to Duke in the Maui Invitational.
This is the first of six-straight games in Birmingham for the Blazers with the next five all coming at Bartow Arena following Saturday's game. After Saturday, UAB will host Alcorn State on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and that game time has been changed to 3 p.m.
