DAHOLENGA, Ga. – The No. 18 UAB rifle team dropped its match 4,617-4,568 at North Georgia on Saturday.
UAB sits at 4-2 on the season with two matches remaining in the fall.
"Overall, I am very proud of my team," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "Scores were down this week, but that means we have to practice harder to get ready for VMI."
Michael Dietz once again led the Blazers as he finished fourth overall. The freshman fired a 558 in Small Bore and a 587 in Air Rifle for a 1,145 aggregate total. His Air Rifle total was the highest of the event.
Zoe Lum recorded a career-best finish as she placed fifth. The New Mexico native shot a 567 in Small Bore and a 576 in Air for a 1,143 aggregate total.
Competing only in Air, Lilly Vonderau posted a career-high 584 total for the fourth-highest total in the match.
UAB takes a week off before returning to the range on Nov. 10 at VMI. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. CST in Lexington, Va.
