Blazers Set To Host First Home Meet In Program History

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB cross country team will host the Blazer Cross Country Classic Friday Oct. 12 as its first home event of program history.
The Blazers' first 6,000-meter race of the season is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Montevallo XC Course.
The 22-team field includes Alabama, Alabama State, Birmingham Southern, Clark Atlanta, Florida A&M, Lawson State CC, Marion Military Institute, Memphis, Mercer, Nicholls State, North Alabama, Pearl River CC, Samford, Shorter, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Talladega College, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Troy and Tuskegee
UAB last ran at the Loyola Lakefront Classic in Chicago where they placed 18th in the competitive 33-team field. Laura Thompson, Karlee Stortz, Sarah Slavik and Celestial Moon set personal records in the 5,000-meter race. Moon also led the team placing 93 overall.
