READING, Pa. – The No. 14 UAB bowling team went 2-1 on the final day of the 10th Annual Kutztown Invitational to finish the tournament in 13th overall.
"Sunday's have been a battle for us most of the year," head coach Michelle Crews said. "We end up going back and forth with the other team taking it to six or seven games. We bowled well today and had solid competition. We picked up two wins in five games and really hard in the other. I am very excited for our team and what is to come the rest of the season."
UAB opened the day with a 4-1 win over Norfolk State. After dropping the first game, the Blazers rattled off four consecutive victories to secure the win.
In the second match, UAB battled Sacred Heart to seven games but the Pioneers won the final game and took the match 4-3.
The Blazers ended the tournament on a high note with a commanding 4-1 win over Duquesne to secure the 13th place finish.
McKendree took home team honors defeating Vanderbilt 4-3 in the championship match.
UAB takes a few weeks off before hitting the lanes at the Stephen F. Austin Jacks Invitational set for Feb. 16-18 in Houston, Texas.
