BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB women's golf head coach Kim Wilcox has named Ericka Schneider as the assistant coach of the program.
"I am excited to have Ericka as our new assistant," Wilcox said. "She brings extensive playing experience from her college days at Ole Miss and Daytona State. She has also spent the last three years on the Symetra Tour. Our team will benefit from her experience immediately."
Schneider comes to UAB after having spent the prior three years playing professionally on the Symetra Tour, the prelude to the LPGA. She played in 23 tournaments while on tour and made four cuts in 2016.
Prior to competing on tour, Schneider played collegiately at Ole Miss and Daytona State. As a senior for the Rebels, she competed in all 12 tournaments with three top-20 finishes, including a fourth-place finish at the LSU Golf Classic. Schneider also finished second on the team with a 75.5 stroke average.
At Daytona State she helped guide the Falcons to consecutive NJCAA National Titles and finished second individually in 2011.
"I am incredibly thankful to Coach Wilcox for giving me the opportunity to join the UAB Athletics family," Schneider said. "I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the women's golf team. It is an honor to be able to help guide these girls to be the best versions of themselves on the golf course, in the classroom and beyond their collegiate careers. Go Blazers!"
Schneider is a 2014 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received her undergraduate degree in integrated marketing communications. She is a native of Bradenton, Florida.
