Blazers Set For Exhibition Match Against Auburn

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With just under a week until the season opener in Boston, Ma. the UAB volleyball team will travel down to Auburn, Ala. for an exhibition matchup against the Tigers.
The match is set for 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday Aug. 19 at Auburn Arena.
"We're looking forward to the exhibition match against Auburn on Saturday," assistant coach Jeff White said. "We have had a positive preseason and our players are ready to test their skills against a tough in-state team. It should be a lot of fun and we hope to learn a lot about our team."
The Blazers return 12 players from last year's squad with seniors Gabby Deshotel, Haley Jared, Petra Silic and Erika Zembyla leading the way. UAB welcomes seven newcomers in 2017.
After the season opening tournament in Boston, the Green and Gold will return home to host the Blazer Invitational from Aug. 31 – Sept. 3.
