Sydney Snodgrass Named to Conference USA Third Team

IRVING, Texas - Junior Sydney Snodgrass was named to the Conference USA Third Team as announced by the league office Wednesday morning. This award is voted on by coaches around the conference based on an individual's play throughout the season.
"Sydney deserved this honor," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "She was consistent and focused while practicing and in tournaments. I can always count on her to be ready and eager to play. Haley (Wilson) and I are proud of her."
Snodgrass led the Blazers this season with a 75.4 stroke average including six rounds at or under par. She placed second at the Chris Banister Golf Classic, fifth at the Bama Beach Bash and tied for fourth at the Conference USA Championships while also earning All-Tournament honors. The Harrisville, W.Va., native was UAB's low-medalist in five tournaments this season including the previous four.
Along with excelling on the course, Snodgrass also excels in the classroom with a 3.92 GPA while majoring in accounting. She was named a member of the 2017 Conference USA All-Academic team as well as being named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the league's Academic Medal.
Snodgrass becomes the 10th UAB golfer to be named to an All-Conference team. She joins Janey Deimling (2004-05) and Brooke Mangan (2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05) to earn the award under Wilcox's tenure.
