Women's Tennis Hosts Troy, Arkansas State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women’s tennis team begins a five-match homestand this weekend when the Blazers host Troy Saturday at 1 p.m. and Arkansas State Sunday at noon from George Ward Park. All fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a free t-shirt and pizza.
Head coach Mark Tjia will also offer a free clinic to kids ages 13-18 immediately following Saturday’s match. Email marktjia@uab.edu to reserve your spot.

Tjia Talk: “We thoroughly enjoy the in-state rivalries because there always seems to be a little extra passion and intensity in these matches, which makes it more fun for both the players and the fans. We are hoping for a great crowd on Saturday as we will be giving out free UAB Women’s Tennis t-shirts along with free pizza. It will be a fun afternoon and I hope to see a lot of Blazers there.”
