UAB Athletics Reaches 100% Staff Giving for Second Consecutive Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Athletics has achieved their goal of 100 percent staff participation with Blazer Boosters for the second consecutive giving year. As a department, more than $15,000 was raised to support UAB's 18 programs and 396 student-athletes.
"I cannot say enough about the members of our coaching staff and administration who have committed to this initiative for the second year in a row. It says that everyone is all-in, and that we all want to provide our student-athletes with the world-class experience they deserve," said Director of Athletics Mark Ingram.
This achievement comes on the heels of two consecutive record-breaking fundraising years for athletics development, as Blazer Boosters is set to close 2017 by surpassing the 2015 and 2016 giving year totals.
"This participation and commitment with giving back from within gives us an incredible platform as we share the UAB Athletics story with other alums, employees, and the community at large. Every person that gives has a direct impact on the lives of our Blazer student-athletes," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Brad Hardekopf. "Exciting times are ahead for UAB and Birmingham, and we look to carry the momentum forward as we close out the 2017 giving year."
Blazer Boosters are alumni and friends of UAB who recognize the value of the student-athlete experience. All gifts to Blazer Boosters are tax deductible and generate funding for student-athlete scholarships, capital projects and facility improvements, and the enhancement of sport specific operating budgets.
