Nominations for Hall of Fame Class of 2018 Now Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Nominations of outstanding individuals to join the UAB Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 2018 Class are now being accepted. Among the current Hall of Fame members are head coaches, UAB Presidents and student-athletes who achieved unmatched success while at UAB and beyond.
Nominations will be accepted through January 15th and can be done so by clicking here. Below are guidelines to have someone nominated and considered for the UAB Athletics Hall of Fame.
The Nomination Process
1.Complete a Hall of Fame Nomination Form. The nomination form and Hall of Fame bylaws can be found here.
2.Submit the completed form including any subsequent documents, i.e., pictures, letters of recommendation, newspaper articles or clippings, by January 15th.
3.Selected nominees for the 2018 UAB Athletics Hall of Fame class will be notified individually by the Director of Athletics.
UAB Athletics Hall of Fame Categories
Student-Athlete
A student-athlete must have completed their athletics career at UAB at least five years prior to the year of nomination. They must be a letter winner at UAB and demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship, character and integrity. The student-athlete must have completed their career as a UAB record holder, recipient of conference awards, postseason accolades, and/or other noteworthy accomplishments.
Coach
A UAB coach must have served as part of the UAB Athletics coaching staff for at least five years. They are eligible five years after leaving specific role of nomination.
Administrator
A UAB administrator cannot have worked for UAB in the last five years and they must have worked in the UAB Department of Athletics for a minimum of five years.
Team
A team must have achieved unprecedented success on the playing field and brought national recognition to UAB. Teams are eligible five years after completion of nominated season.
Other Consideration
Nominations under this category should not be a former UAB student-athlete, coach, or athletics administrator unless current circumstances warrant such inclusion. Individuals must have made significant contributions to the advancement of UAB Athletics and no more than two of these selections shall be accepted per induction term.
