Blazers Wrap Up Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. – The UAB women's golf team completed the third and final round of the Pinehurst Challenge today as the team finished tied for 18th after a three-round 906 total on Tuesday.
"It was great being at Pinehurst," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "We maybe were a bit weary after so much golf. The girls were grinding today but we excited about our next stop, Tampa!"
Sydney Snodgrass paced the Blazers en route to setting a season-low 219 three-round score. A 74 in the final round secured a tie for 30th place.
Maria Donado shot a 76 in the third round and finished tied for 56th overall. She carded a 224 (+8) tournament total.
Kenna Hughes avoided a round in the 80s after turning a 75 into the clubhouse in the final round and tied for 60th overall.
Juliana Sebastian rebounded after consecutive 80s yesterday to shoot a six-over 78 in the third round.
Imy Huxley rounded out the UAB lineup with an 85 on the final 18.
East Carolina repeated as team champions, firing an astounding 17-under 847 three-round score.
Valentina Giraldo of Jacksonville State took home the individual title at eight under edging Coastal Carolina's Malene Krolboll Hansen by one stroke.
UAB takes some time off before completing its fall schedule Oct. 30-31 at the USF Fall Invite in Tampa, Fla.
