Women's Golf Claims Second Place Finish

FINAL RESULTS
GADSDEN, Ala.- The UAB women’s golf team finished in second place at the Chris Banister Golf Classic which was held Sept. 25-27 at Silver Lakes Golf Club.
On the final day of play, the Blazers shot a team score of 298 to finish in second place only behind Murray State.
“The girls played well today,” said head coach Kim Wilcox. “Sydney (Snodgrass) had a great tournament. Their effort throughout the week was impressive. I’m thrilled for this team moving forward.”
Sydney Snodgrass moved up two places on the leaderboard into second place after she fired an even par 72 in the final round. She finished at four over for the tournament.
Rebecca Chandler re-grouped from yesterday to shoot 75 (+3). Juliana Sebastian continued her impressive play to card a 76 (+4). Chandler and Sebastian tied for ninth overall.
Kenna Hughes matched her collegiate best score of 75 (+3), while Kayla Wilbourn improved on her day two score by three strokes to record a six-over 78. Hughes and Wilbourn finished in a four-way tie for 22nd.
Murray State claimed team honors after shooting an 887 over three days of play. Tennessee Tech finished third, while Samford and South Alabama tied for fourth to round out the top five.
Moa Folke of Murray State shot two-under on the day to finish one under for the tournament and claimed top individual honors.
The Blazers return to the course on October 10 when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to play in the Golden Eagle Jam hosted by Southern Miss.
