FULLERTON, Calif. – Tala Haddad tallied three points on one goal and one assist to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 3-0 victory over UAB Friday evening from Titan Stadium in the second game of the Cal State Fullerton Tournament.
Haddad connected with Connie Caliz 52 seconds into the match to put the Titans ahead 1-0 on Caliz’s first goal of the season. Haddad dribbled down the left side of the field and played a cross into the UAB box that set up Caliz for a right-footed strike past a diving Kelsey Daugherty.
Haddad collected her second goal of the season later in the first half with a left-footed shot from just outside the Blazer box. Jessica Simonian capped the scoring for Cal State Fullerton with an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.
UAB returns to action Sunday at 4 p.m. CT when the Blazers face UC Irvine in their final game of the tournament.
