MOBILE, Ala. – The UAB women’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at South Alabama Sunday afternoon in an exhibition game from Sage Park that consisted of three 30-minute periods.
Hannah Godfrey gave South Alabama an early edge when she scored on a free kick midway through the first period off a pass from Chelsea Followwell.
The Jaguars extended their lead early in the second period on a goal from Nikki Shirtcliffe. Danielle Henley started the scoring opportunity with a pass to Shirtcliffe, who sent a cross from the right side of the field that found its way into the UAB net.
