IRVING, Texas – Junior Pardis Kianoush of the UAB women’s tennis team was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team for the third straight year, the league announced Friday afternoon. Kianoush earned the nod during her freshman and sophomore campaigns as well.
“For Pardis to be recognized for her play every year she has been here says a lot about her ability,” head coach Mark Tjia said. “She is very appreciative of this recognition; but at the same time, I know she is looking forward to even bigger milestones for her upcoming senior year.”
The Brighton, England, native secured seven wins for the Blazers as she represented UAB on court one. Kianoush went toe to toe with No. 14 Jasmine Lee of No. 21 Mississippi State as she claimed the second set.
During her junior campaign, Kianoush claimed five victories in just two sets and earned wins on court one over ULM, Troy and Samford.
In doubles play, she represented the Blazers on court one with Elaine Simon. The duo closed out the season going 11-2 on their way to 12 wins on the season, a team best. The Green and Gold’s top tandem earned a win over No. 73 Arizona’s No. 1 pair. Simon and Kianoush enjoyed two four-game win streaks, with wins over ULM, Troy, Arizona, Sacramento State, Central Florida and Memphis.
