BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB Sophomore Sydney Snodgrass was tabbed the Conference USA Most Improved Golfer by the league’s coaches Wednesday.
“It is a well-deserved honor for Sydney,” head coach Kim Wilcox said. “She had some great rounds and a tournament win. I can’t wait to see what she does the next two years.”
Snodgrass dropped her season stroke average to 76.55 after carding a 77.10 during her freshman season. The sophomore won the 2016 USA Women’s Spring Invite with a 3-under 213 and totaled three top-five finishes on the campaign. She placed in the top five twice during the season, and also placed in the top 15 twice and top 20 once. She was named C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week following her victory at the USA Women’s Spring Invite.
“She is an all-in person,” Wilcox said. “She does her work during practice, but goes the extra mile after practice to improve. She is a great teammate and an exemplary student-athlete.”
Snodgrass shares the award with Western Kentucky’s Emily Alexander who improved her average by nearly two strokes.
