TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Ali Meister and Hannah Hensley raced to outdoor personal best times in the 100-meter hurdles to lead UAB on the final day of the Alabama Relays.
Meister finished in 24th place with a time of 14.90, while Hensley took 32nd after crossing the finish line with a mark of 15.65.
Blazer distance runners Victoria Roughsedge and Sarah Livett made their 2016 debuts and took part in the 1500 meters.
“I was pleased with how the girls competed on a day when the weather conditions were not ideal,” UAB head coach Kurt Thomas said. “Fanta ran very well in the 4x400 meter relay and Elisea had a great start in the 400-meter hurdles. We need to smooth some things out moving forward, but I think we can use this meet as a springboard as we continue our season.”
UAB returns to action Friday when the Blazers travel to Nashville, Tenn., to take part in the Black and Gold Invite at Vanderbilt University.
