Kianoush Perfect on Day Two of Samford Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Pardis Kianoush went undefeated in both singles and doubles play to lead UAB to four victories on day two of the Samford Intercollegiate.
Kianoush and partner Marlene Herrmann opened the day with a 6-2 victory over Anki Wind and Josephine Cao of Memphis in doubles play, and Reghan Lynch and Hana Sisirak recorded a 6-4 victory over Savannah Wood and Elsa Pool of Samford to allow UAB to finish day two undefeated in doubles.
Kianoush would go on to post a 6-2, 6-2 win over Wind in singles action to collect her third victory of the weekend. Sisirak joined Kianoush in the win column following her 6-4, 6-3 victory over Annika Hepp of Samford.
“Pardis picked up a quality win today over a very good player from Memphis, and Hana continues to have a good tournament,” UAB head coach Mark Tjia said. “We did some good things today and improved in some areas from yesterday, but we need to continue to get better tomorrow as well.”
Day three of the tournament begins Sunday at 9 a.m. with doubles play.
