"Brittany Winborne was just outstanding and I am really proud of her," head coach Randy Norton said of Winborne. "If you don't know her history, she's kind of come out of nowhere. It's exciting for her to have a senior year like this, because I think she is an all-conference player. She's in the top of the conference in rebounding, both defensive and offensive, and she's scoring for us. So, we're so excited for her.
UAB (10-10, 3-6) outscored Marshall (14-6, 4-5), 37-32 in the second half, but they could not erase the eight-point halftime deficit.
