UAB and Chattanooga have met twice in program history with the Blazers leading the series, 2-0. The Blazers have shut the Mocs out over the last two meetings and have outscored Chattanooga, 15-0.
Last season, UAB topped Chattanooga, 7-0 with six different Blazers scoring goals in the match. The seven goals posted by the Green and Gold were the most in a single game over a decade stretch.
Friday's contest will be the first in Chattanooga with the previous two meetings being played at West Campus Field.
Scouting the Opponent
Chattanooga enters Friday's contest with a 1-6 record with the Mocs lone win coming against Alabama State, 4-0. The Mocs have been shut out in four of their six losses.
The only shared opponent on the Mocs' scheduled is Austin Peay. Chattanooga opened the season with a double overtime loss to the Governors, 1-0.
Skylar Brewer leads UTC with five points (two goals, one assist). At goalkeeper, Katie Emig has started six games for the Mocs. Emig has recorded over 537 minutes in-goal with a 1.51 goals against average.
Daugherty Tough of Cardinals
Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Daugherty recorded her best performance of the year against the Cardinals at West Campus Field last Friday. Daugherty shut Louisville out in the first half despite the Cardinals taking 12 shots.
The scoreless battle lasted for 62 minutes before Louisville found the net, but Daugherty controlled the damage to give UAB a chance to lock the game up. Once the final seconds ticked away, the goalkeeper had made 10 saves regardless of the rainy conditions.
