Women's Golf Closes Opening Round at Lady Eagle Invite

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - UAB's women's golf team posted a first round score 323 at the 21st Annual Lady Eagle Invitational Monday at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
The Blazers and 13 other teams at the scheduled two-day event went straight into the second round due to projected rain on Tuesday, but play was halted after seven holes were completed. All teams will return to the course Tuesday to attempt to complete the remaining holes.
UAB's 35-over, 323 put them 11th as a team entering Tuesday's action.
Holly Robinson paced UAB with a 7-over, 79, on Monday, to place tied for 37th. Rebecca Chandler and Kayla Wilbourn both turned in scores of 9-over, 81, to put themselves 48th individually after 18 holes.
Juliana Sebastian fired a 10-over, 82, while Margaret Yeh turned in a 12-over, 84 in the opening round.
Western Kentucky paced the field with a 293 to lead second place South Alabama by eight strokes. The Hilltoppers' Elinor Haag turned in the low scored of the day, a 4-under, 68.
