Leigh Streetman Re-Joins UAB Softball As A Coach

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Leigh Streetman enters her first year on the UAB staff after joining as a volunteer assistant coach under head coach Marla Townsend in mid-January.
Streetman joins Lucy Bass, Amanda Ellis and Erica Sisson as the fourth UAB softball alumna on the current staff under Townsend.
Streetman helped UAB reach five consecutive NCAA Tournaments - a streak held by only 23 teams nationally - with trips in each of her four years as a staple of the pitching staff. Working with the pitchers as a coach in 2015, she will be looking to help the Blazers reach their sixth.
"We're extremely excited about Leigh Streetman joining our staff," head coach Marla Townsend said. "For four years, she did everything that we asked of her and left a legacy with the program. She's been there before, so she can break it down simply for them. She stresses the importance of your spin, the mental game and your work ethic. I think that she's going to be a great leader for our group of six pitchers this year."
Streetman owns UAB career records in appearances (144), saves (13) and batting average against (.209), while sharing the career record for wins (58). She owns one of UAB's top-five career ERAs (2.18), and accounted for several single-season school records, including ERA (1.34 in 2011), saves (7 in 2011) and the program's top two marks in batting average against (.190 in 2013, .192 in 2011).
