BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Coming off two close losses to open conference play, the UAB women's soccer team looks to bounce back by hosting Louisiana Tech.
The Blazers open play on Friday as UAB hosts the Lady Techsters for the first time at West Campus Field. The match is set as the women's soccer team's annual "Kicking for a Cure" event. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
UAB was scheduled to face Old Dominion on Sunday, but due to weather threatening the area, the match has been postponed. No announcement has been on rescheduling the match.

"Kicking For a Cure"
Friday's contest versus Louisiana Tech has been designated as the "Kicking For a Cure" cancer awareness match. Raffle tickets for various prizes will be available throughout the match with all proceeds and donations going directly to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Series History
UAB and Louisiana Tech met for the first time in the 2014 season when the Lady Techsters took a 2-1 victory over the Blazers. Friday's match will be the first between the squads at West Campus Field.

Louisiana Tech enters Friday's contest with a 7-5 record
Tied for fifth in C-USA for goals scored, Kathryn Sloan leads Louisiana Tech. Sloan has accounted for five goals and three assists to accumulate 13 points in 2015. Eighteen of Sloan's 24 shots have landed on goal. Kylee Seto has tallied just shy of 1,000 minutes in net for the Lady Techsters and has allowed only nine goals for a 0.81 goals against average. Seto has the third best save percentage in C-USA at .845 and has three shutout performances under her belt.
Head's Up Bri
Sophomore Bri Kuestersteffen netted her first career goal in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Middle Tennessee when the defender headed a corner-kick cross from fellow sophomore Katherine Foster. The assist was Foster's first points of the 2015 season and second of her career. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native now has one career goal and assist at the defensive position and leads all sophomore players in points with two total.
