UAB Women's Golf Finishes 12th At Blue Raider Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The UAB women's golf team improved in the final 18 holes Tuesday at the Blue Raider Invitational to finish 12th after firing a 316 at the Old Fort Golf Course.
The Blazers entered the final round in 13th and improved three strokes from round two's total to jump ahead of UMKC and finish at 79-over, 943 for the event.
"We had some good improvement this tournament," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "We are working hard to bring it together for our last event."
Freshman Sydney Snodgrass led the way for the Green and Gold, turning in a 5-over, 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 37th at 18-over, 234.
Freshman Kayla Wilbourn and senior Holly Robinson both finished with a 54-hole total, 237 in a tie for 44th. Wilbourn carded a 10-over, 82 on Tuesday, while Robinson matched her round two score with an 81.
Sophomore Rebecca Chandler came back strong in her final round to card a 4-over, 76 and finish 59th at 24-over, 240. Senior Margaret Yeh rounded out the UAB field with an 85 in round three to finish at 28-over, 244.
Host Middle Tennessee claimed the tournament title after firing rounds of 296, 293 and 284 to finish at 9-over, 873.
UAB returns to the course next week with play at the UAB Fall Beach Blast, Oct. 26-28, in Gulf Shores, Ala.
