Moolman Named Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Menanteau Moolman, a junior on the Blazer women's tennis team, has been named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Moolman went 2-0 in singles last week, helping UAB to a pair of 5-2 victories over North Alabama and UTSA. The Bloemhof, South Africa product won in straight sets against UNA and came from a set down to pull out a three-set victory against UTSA. She also teamed with Rachel Daniell for doubles wins in both matches.
In the classroom, Moolman carries a 3.81 GPA as an accounting major. She earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal last year as she helped UAB win the C-USA Sport Academic Award as the women's tennis program with the highest team GPA in the league.
Moolman has also been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete in each of the past two seasons.
The UAB women's tennis team (3-4) hits the road for three matches this weekend, starting with Friday's 3 p.m. ET contest at Presbyterian.
