Campbell Named C-USA Pitcher Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB sophomore pitcher Lannah Campbell was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 for the Blazer softball team last week. It marks the first weekly honor of her career.
Campbell went 2-0 against Memphis over the weekend and posted a 0.00 ERA. She pitched two complete games and allowed just one unearned run. The Satsuma, Ala. native struck out 17 batters, scattered six hits and did not allow a walk in 14.0 innings of work.
In Saturday's first game against Memphis, she struck out a career-best 10 batters in a complete-game effort, allowing five hits and one unearned run. The next day Campbell pitched a one-hit, complete-game shutout, striking out seven batters and walking none.
Campbell and the Blazers return to action Wednesday when they play host to South Alabama. Campbell’s twin sister Hannah pitches for South Alabama and the two could go head-to-head in the contest. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. CT at the UAB Softball Field.
